Stenocarpus ‘sinuatus’
Stenocarpus ‘sinuatus’

Common Name: Queensland Firewheel Tree

This handsome but slow growing tree is endemic to the rainforests of Australia’s eastern seaboard. Flowering of this tree takes place in only mature specimens of 8-12 years of age. Our specimen has been flowering consistently for the last 3 years with orange to red skittle shaped buds opening to contorted flowers arranged in a cluster that look like spokes on a wheel. This particular Stenocarpus ‘sinuatus’ has been grown as a multi leader specimen to form a large bush. Very rare in cultivation this tree would compliment a warm tropical courtyard or inner city garden. Large lush leaves of green form a dense crown. Plants to accompany this tree would include Tupidanthus ‘calytraptas’, Cinnamonum ‘camphora’, Dypsis ‘baronii’, Cunonia capensis, Strelitzia and Ficus species.

Syzygium Resilience™
Syzygium Resilience™

Syzygium Resilience is a superior cultivar of the of Syzygium Australe, or more commonly known as a Lilly Pilly. This unique variety is new to the NZ market and is solely available through Boulevard and Boutique. The improved characteristics of the Syzygium Resilience variety is a result of a specialised propagation technique, giving it fantastic benefits such as a high resistance to psyllids, faster growing, having a stronger and straighter central leader, and a better root system.

The Lilly Pilly species are an ideal plant for the temperate zones of NZ, and are extremely popular. They are used largely for hedging or screening, and also a good option for pots. It is a versatile tree that produces spectacular colourful new foliage which mature into deep green, glossy leaves. It requires either full sun or part shade, low water requirement, and responds well to pruning.

Psyllids cause an unsightly deformation of the leaves. The Syzygium Resilience will dramatically reduce the use of dangerous sprays and chemicals in your gardens. Syzygium Resilience is the only known cultivar of type that is resistant to Psyllid bugs.

Tristaniopsis laurina
Tristaniopsis laurina

Common Name: Water gum or Kanooka

This distinctive Australian gum tree is most recognisable for its striking multi trunks which grow in superbly irregular angles and shapes according to the environment it grows in. Although this is mostly found naturally along riverbanks and streams, it is popular as an ornamental tree in urban landscapes due to its unique form; the lovely light-coloured wood of the heavily textured trunks; the dark glossy foliage with its summer display of yellow flowers. Easy care, compact, and can be pruned to a desired shape.
