Common name: Kauri
The Kauri tree is a New Zealand icon of solidity and magnificence. One of the largest growing and longest-living tree species in the world, New Zealand has vast expanses of ancient kauri forests and is home to our famous Kauri Tree ‘Tane Mahuta’. The sheer size and strength of these trees is awe-inspiring. Kauri has been an integral part of New Zealand’s history and both its wood and tree gum have been utilized for years. Although they are steeped in history these trees are still cherished today and will never go out of fashion. Our ground-grown Kauri are mature and healthy and add a majestic feel to a landscape. They are the sort of tree that when implemented into the landscape project will look like its always been there.
