Corynocarpus laevigatus

Common name: Karaka

The Karaka or New Zealand Laurel is a very full and dense evergreen tree. It makes an instant visual impact with its brilliantly glossy and vivid green leathery foliage which commands attention. It flowers in late Winter/Spring with delicate green/cream clusters. The large orange berry-like fruits appear in summer. The Karaka Tree’s simple elegance produces a timeless style into the landscape in which it is implemented. It makes a great privacy screen or shade canopy.
